a pie? are you sure

one of my favorite blogs to read is suburban turmoil today lucinda posted about a skiing trip in durango colorado, this is quoted directly from thier local newspaper and made me crack the hell up.

Sunday

7:41 p.m. A man who sounded intoxicated said something was on fire in an oven in the 800 block of East 32nd Street. He said he could see the flames. It was a pie.

vanilla yogurt

yep it's official, i don't like vanilla yogurt. even it it's in it's frozen form. just another thing to add to the list. i've tried several different brands but just can't get over the whole fake taste of it. blech.

i'll get my camera back soon so i can show you all some more photos of bunnies ('cause i'm sure that's why your here, not because i have cute dogs or an interesting life or anything like that. oh, maybe because of my hot brother, the race car driver in the doo wap posts earlier this month.) and the dogs.

on the knitting home front i've started a new project. i'm totally not going to tell you what it is though because, well, it's secret.

it's black and red and knit on size 13 40 inch addi turbo circulars, but seriously that's all i'm telling you.

i've ripped it out once already okay, i'm done, not telling you another bit about the secret project.

i will take some pictures of the rockin' stitch markers i made especially for the secret project last sunday though, but that's all you get.

seriously, i'm done,
that's all your getting, don't know why you're still reading.

oh it's really cool and i don't keep secrets well.

okay all done.

thunder and lightning

yep, watching it through the window at my brothers house, typing on his awesome mac. smelling some yum yum brownies and thinking that right now i am truly macguyiver (yep still dont know how to spell it). not just knitting macguyiver but macguyiver of sewing machines too. i just helped to repair a disfunctional viking sewing machine, with aid of the book it was pretty easy. just ended up having to tighten the tention on the bobbin case. i just looked at the keyboard and it's all groty though so i'm going to stop typing now.

the pattern she cometh!

hear ye hear ye

let it be known that the pattern for 'katie's crash test bunnies' has been edited by at least 2 people and that version 7 is now complete. i feel comfortable in almost putting it online although version 7 has yet to be edited into version 7.5 (aka the short version) and i really have to resist the urge to add yet annother peice to the pattern all should be done by the end of the weekend. er that is my goal at least. i just need to get ahold of my hosting cohort pip.

a treat!

since i am still trying to finalize the doo wop posts with pictures here is a treat from wordsmith.org which gives me my daily word. this one made me chuckle out loud at my desk while people were still here.

A.Word.A.Day--putsch

Pronunciation Sound Clip RealAudio

This week's theme: words borrowed from German.

putsch (pooch) noun

A secretly plotted, sudden attempt to overthrow a government.

[From Swiss German Putsch (thrust, blow).]

Today's word in Visual Thesaurus.

An infamous example was the Beer Hall Putsch of 1923. Hitler and his cohorts stormed a beer hall in Munich where a meeting of the Bavarian government was taking place. The putsch failed and they were sentenced to prison. This attempt gave Hitler national attention and he decided to gain power by legal means. It was during this imprisonment that he wrote Mein Kampf (My Struggle).

-Anu Garg (gargATwordsmith.org)

"Another mini-coup, 2003's shopping mall putsch aimed by young officers at Arroyo was yet another reminder of the restive military." Where Has the Hope Gone? The Standard (Hong Kong); Feb 18, 2006.
