don't ever ask the universe for a favor

a while ago i was, yet again, contemplating my place in this universe. i was thinking that i like my knitting but that i would like to get into sports again but couldn't think of something that i would really love to compete in. i played soccer for 10 years, i've been on recreational basketball, volley ball, and soft ball teams, i also threw big steel balls and a sharp metal stick for track in high school. i like all of those sports, but i don't looooove them. for me sports are all about the competition, i am a very competitive person and drag that part of myself with me into everything that i do. knitting, eating, whatever, i somehow subconsciously or not turn it into a competition. i'll get on with the story now and stop all the blah blah blahing.... the other day while i was surfing through craftster and reading the topic 'inappropriate places to bring your knitting' someone said that they brought their knitting to roller derby with them. roller derby? hmmmm i wonder if there is roller derby in the seattle area.... i like roller skating, i think that beating up other chicks sounds like fun..... oh shit yeah, there are 4 teams in seattle and 1 team starting up in everett. you do have to try out and there is a practice squad called PFM (potential fresh meat). when the universe throws something in your lap like this it's a little hard to tell it no. i mean, really, it is the universe after all and it is kinda big....

i'll let you know how it all works out.

p.s. yep, as you've noticed i'm totally on the ball and whenever i figure out how to make a button you will see it up.
